The CBA represents the clay brick and paver manufacturers of Southern Africa.
We inspire sustainable, contemporary brick architecture and building design in all areas of the built environment: commercial, residential and landscape.
Kopano Brickworks Ltd works with developers and contractors to ensure that communities enjoy secure, safe, sustainable infrastructure – together we are stronger!
We produce 4 beautiful face-brick products that grace homes and commercial offices, large and small.
We also manufacture the cost-saving Corojem (140 x 222 x 73cm), which cuts construction time and material costs while still meeting National Building Regulation and SABS requirements.
Our manufacturing processes are based on sound environmental practices, designed to lessen the impact of our business on the environment. Our Transverse Arch Kiln is a a continuously-fired kiln which reduces its carbon footprint and is energy efficient.
Our name Kopano means “to bring together” and this has been our enduring philosophy since the founding company Golden Brown Brick opened in 1946. Corobrick purchased the company in 1978.
Kopano was purchased from Corobrik by it’s workforce in 1999. 61% of the company’s shares are held by employees, and are registered individually in the name of each employee. Corobrik has retained a minority shareholding, and continue to assist Kopano with product distribution, marketing & access to the latest technology.
Our employees are our shareholders, so a safe working environment is of crucial importance. Our Safety, Health and Environment Programme exceeds the standards set by the Mine, Health and Safety Act.
Clay brick has a lifespan of over 100 years, making it ideal for long lasting South African social and residential infrastructure.
Low maintenance, durable clay brick walling saves time and effort across its long lifespan - and always looks great!
Due to its high thermal mass, clay brick stays warm in winter, and cool in summer, reducing your carbon footprint & energy costs.
Clay brick homes and social infrastructure are not just beautiful, they are a solid investment.
