Sustainability Desk Manager position

The Clay Brick Association of South Africa (CBA) is looking for a Manager for the Sustainability Desk. The Sustainability Desk is being established as part of a three-year project under the SWITCH AFRICA Green programme ‘Promoting Inclusive Sustainable Practices in the South African Clay Brick Sector’ co-funded by the European Union.
The Sustainability Desk will form the coordinating body regarding the promotion and implementation of sustainable consumption and production practices within the clay brick sector targeting all formal brick makers as well as brick makers in the informal sector.
The Sustainability Desk Manager concerns a full-time position with the following profile:
A proven track record in the fields of sustainability and/or energy efficiency;
Extensive experience within the clay brick production sector;
Good understanding of the technical aspects of the clay brick industry;
Strong communication skills, face to face as well as telephonically;
Proficient in Microsoft Office and excellent writing skills;
Available to extensively travel within South Africa, especially rural areas.
Interface and visit brickmakers in SA, formal and in-formal (non-regulated)
Willing to assist in daily activities of the office of the CBA
